NSW Government Health Infrastructure & RMS
$Value of project
$4 Million
Location of project
Warwick Farm
Contract period
April 2012 - December 2012
Scope of works

This component of the Liverpool Hospital Redevelopment involved works to allow safer and brighter thoroughfare for public and emergency vehicles into the hospital.
Works involved:

  • The upgrade and widening of the Hume Highway and Remembrance Avenue intersection
  • Widening of Hart Street
  • Installation of two round-a-bouts at both ends of Hart street
  • Upgrade of street lighting
  • Widening of shared footpaths and cycleways all while providing pedestrian and vehicle access at all times.
Project Highlights
  • During works, the project team successfully relocated a hand-made mosaic in the local community garden. Jacking pipes were installed and secured under an existing un-reinforced concrete slab before the mosaic was lifted out and relocated inside the community garden. Liverpool Council and members of the community were pleased and grateful that the iconic mosaic was relocated without damage.
  • The Burton Contractors project team disposed of recycled unwanted soil by using it on the community garden. Money was saved by avoiding off-site disposal and the community garden was filled and compacted to community satisfaction.
