Description of Project:

The works for the Bernera Road Upgrade Project for Liverpool City Council primarily involved the upgrading and realigning of a 1.2km section of the existing Croatia Avenue between Camden Valley Way Road and Edmondson Park Train Station.

    Scope of Works:

    The key features of the works included:

    • Widening Bernera Road from a 2 lane carriageway to a 4 lane divided carriage way
    • 2 new signalised intersections with modifications to the intersection at Camden Valley Way and Bernera Road
    • Demolition of existing road and minor structures
    • Construction of traffic islands
    • Construction of 5 cell box culvert by realigning the flow of an existing creek
    • Significant services and utility relocation
    • Construction of stormwater pipe and pits
    • Bulk earthworks cut to fill of 20,000m3
    • Property adjustments including retaining walls and driveway construction
