Erskine Park Road Upgrade 

Description of Project:

The Erskine Park Road Upgrade project included the construction of roadworks and associated activities for the upgrading of Erskine Park Road at Explorers Way. The Australian Government, in partnership with the New South Wales Government, is delivering the $3.6B Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan (WSIP).

The WSIP programme included a $200M Local Roads Package over 10 years, allocated directly to local councils in Western Sydney to fund a range of minor works that will improve local transport connections and links to the main road arterial network. The proposal is funded by the Local Roads Package.

Scope of Works:

The key features of the works included:

• Upgrade to four lane median separated dual carriageway (two lanes in each direction). At the completion of the Erskine Park Road Intersections Upgrade, Erskine Park Road will be widened to a four lane dual carriageway between Bennett Road and Coonawarra Drive
• The upgrade of four intersections along Erskine Park Road
• Signalised intesections at Explorers Way and Erskine Park Road 
• Signalised intersections at Bennett Road and Erskine Park Road
• Upgrade on Coonawarra Drive and Erskine Park Road intersection to a ‘seagull’ intersection
• Upgrade Peppertree Drive and Erskine Park Road intersection to a ‘seagull’ intersection
• Installation of new drainage and upgrade of existing major floodplain pipe culvert
• A new shared user path between Coonawarra Drive and lllawarra Drive
• Adjustment of major Sydney Water assets as per Sydney Water requirements and standards
• Adjustment of HV Endeavour Energy assets and installation of new street lighting
• Adjustment of Jemena Secondary High Pressure Gas Mains
• Adjustment of Optus, Telstra, TPG and NBN communication assets
• Coordination and management of noise mitigation treatments to nominated properties
