Description of Project:
Transport for NSW undertook road improvements on Henry Lawson Drive (HLD) between Beale Street and south of Rabaul Road in Georges Hall. Road improvements additionally extended to the southbound left turn bay on Cumberland Highway into The Horsley Drive (eastbound). The project involved the replacement of the headwall on the Georges River to accommodate large stormwater drainage flows, modification of existing and construction of new stormwater drainage.
Scope of Works:
The key features of the works included:
- Utility installation, installation, relocation and protection of public utility services
- Removal and disposal of existing footpaths
- Stormwater drainage and minor structures
- Earthworks including clearing and grubbing, removal and disposal of topsoil and placing of general fill.
- Construction of new pavement including unbound base and subbase layers and asphaltic concrete wearing.
- Replacement and construction of new Plain Concrete Pavement (PCP) slabs to extend the length of the turning lane
- Mill and re-sheet of existing pavements
- Property adjustments and fence alterations
- Ancillary works including construction of new kerbs and gutters, paving of shared paths
- Road furniture and street lighting
- Signposting
- Landscaping and vegetation works
