Description of Project:
The project involved the upgrade of Great Western Highway at Kelso from Ashworth Drive to Lee Street.
Scope of Works:
The key features of the works included:
- Reconstruction and widening of approximately 2.4km of road to four lanes with central median
- Demolition of existing bridge at Boyd Creek
- Construction of new bridge
- Realignment of Boyd Creek
- Demolition and replacement of multi-cell culvert
- Construction of retaining walls and reinforced masonry stems, footings, clay brick facing and bullnose capping
- Provision of two sets of traffic signals at Great Western Highway and Pat O’Leary Street and Boyd Street intersections
- Installation of CCTV
- Property adjustments to 60 allotments
