Description of Project:
The project required the duplication of the existing Governor Macquarie Drive located in front of the racecourse. The upgrade of approximately 820 metres of road included the construction of 2 signalised intersections and major utility coordination and relocation with multiple stakeholders.
Scope of Works:
The key features of the works included:
- The relocation and reconstruction of a portion of Governor Macquarie Drive to provide a four lane two way road
- Construction of two roundabouts
- Demolition of former railway platform and existing buildings
- Construction of a new 850 space carpark inside Warwick Farm racecourse installation of new utilities and adjustment of existing utilities
- Stormwater drainage installation
- Major utlities in this project included electrical relocation of overhead and underground, sewer and water installation, gas main installation and NBN optic fibre
- Construction of footpath, guardrail, bike path ancillary works
